I'm a Disabled Person who Can't Work.
The thing is -- I used to.
I am also Autistic, and to me, that definitely helped me in my job as an IT Consultant. Especially being a Self-Taught One. I was a Data Analyst and Databse Administrator, but my Main Skillset was a Data Quality Analyst, specialising in Databse Migration.
I was a yoga bunny, advanced horse rider, trained Classical Soprano, Singer-Songwriter & Accomplished Theatre Performer, loved Italian (vegetarian) cooking, and .
I was healthy, happy, and a GREAT job with good money. I doing REALLY great, and about to sign off on the biggest promotion of my career & life...
BUT THEN.
- Then there was Pneumonia.
- Then there was Functional Neurologicaldisorder aka FND
- Then there was Fibromyalgia aka "Fibro"
... THEN THERE WAS THE TWO NHS TRUSTS THAT COULDN'T GIVE A DAMN AND LEFT ME TO ROT FOR 12 YEARS (and counting).
SO THEN.
- - AGONISING **PAIN**. PARALYSIS. DYSPHAGIA. FUNCTIONAL SEIZURES (Major BlackOuts). Inability to MOVE & HARD TO BREATHE. FATIGUE LIKE NOTHING ELSE EVER. Bed-Bound-Room-Bound-House-Bound.
- - Septicaemia & Sepsis. COVID. Autistic Burnout. TWO Nervous Breakdowns.
- - 40 PAGES of Neurological Symptoms/DAMAGE (as written for FND diagnosis) ... Don't get me started on the Fibro ones.... 😵💫🤯ðŸ˜ðŸ˜µðŸ’«ðŸ˜µðŸ˜ðŸ˜–🤯
If the [other] government HADN'T utterly DECIMATED the NHS, Especially NHS England, I probably wouldn't BE like this now.
IF the NHS neurologist I saw EIGHT YEARS AGO in NHS Wales' Betsi Cadwaladr had looked further than the end of his nose and Diagnosed Me Properly -- instead of making up an Imaginary "Diagnosis" and leaving it at that(!!), I wouldn't have been here now.
I COULD have been saved from this. But I Wasn't.
Now I'm a hollow, empty shell who struggles to even get out of bed. To Breathe. To Eat. To Sleep. To.... Anything.
I used to DO things. Now... I Just CAN'T.
